As part of efforts to improve the Shire of Coolgardie’s long-term financial sustainability, Council has undertaken a strategic refinancing of existing loans.

With a shared spirit of reflection, community members gathered at the Memorial Garden this morning for the annual Blessing of the Roads ceremony—a meaningful event that brings attention to road safety ahead of the busy Easter travel period.

On Monday, 24 March 2025, the Coolgardie Community Resource Centre (CRC) hosted a highly informative and engaging Energy Ahead Workshop for our senior residents.

Upon the release of the recent budget review conducted by the Shire of Coolgardie we have recognised some areas of concern expressed by the community. The Shire of Coolgardie acknowledges and understands the community's concerns regarding the current financial situation and the challenges ahead.

Kambalda West District High School (KWDHS) students had the opportunity to explore the impact of waste in their community during a special visit from Pergy Matsika, Manager of Waste Services at the Shire of Coolgardie.

The Shire of Coolgardie recently hosted a successful girls-only event that saw a wonderful turnout of local girls aged 10 to 17. The event, held at the community centre, aimed to foster creativity, self-care, and a sense of empowerment in the young participants.

The Shire of Coolgardie’s fortnightly Seniors Staying Connected group session was a huge success today Thursday 27 March 2025, bringing fun, fitness, and valuable information to local seniors. Held at the community centre, the session featured a lively Parability Dance Fit class led by Andrea from Pure Gold Bootscooters, followed by an informative presentation on home care packages from Prajwal and Narelle from Right at Home.

At the Shire of Coolgardie’s March Ordinary Meeting of Council, acting CEO Aaron Cook presented the Annual Budget review for 2024/2025 as an agenda item.

The Shire of Coolgardie’s outdoor crew has been hard at work ensuring the community is prepared for winter rainfall.

A team from the Section 95 work crew at Eastern Goldfields Regional Prison visited Kambalda to assist with an illegal dumping clean-up

On Monday, 3rd February, Bev and her team from Anglicare visited Kambalda to deliver a fun and engaging morning of activities for the toddlers in our community.

On Sunday 26 January, Australia Day 2025 was a memorable occasion for the Coolgardie community, with a morning full of fun, entertainment, and reflection.

On Tuesday, January 28th, 2025, a group of enthusiastic cooks of all ages gathered in the Kambalda Community Recreation Centre for a special activity, fried rice making in celebration of the Chinese New Year. 

Every year, the Shire of Coolgardie recognises and acknowledges individuals, community groups and organisations for the contributions they have made to our community.

Wednesday 22, January a group of Kambalda children recently enjoyed an exciting day out on a field trip to Kalgoorlie, thanks to the Shire of Coolgardie.

On Wednesday, January 22, 2025, the Coolgardie Recreation Centre was buzzing with creativity as YMCA Youth Officers Heather and Violet facilitated a fun DIY T-Shirt making session for the local youth.

On Sunday 12 January 2025, Gudrun celebrated her 90th birthday at the Coolgardie Recreation Centre, surrounded by over 35 friends and community members.

On Monday 20, January the Kambalda Community Recreation Facility was filled with creativity and plenty of messy fun, as Beverly Pack hosted a delightful Messy Play event themed around Valentine’s Day.

On Thursday, January 9, 2025, the Kambalda Community Recreation Facility kicked off the year with a delightful community activity—Cake Pops!

The Shire of Coolgardie would like to thank everyone who joined us for our Christmas Pingo event on Wednesday, December 11th, at the Coolgardie Community Recreation Centre.

Kambalda was buzzing with energy on Monday, December 16th, as kids of all ages gathered for an exciting Basketball Clinic at the Kambalda Community Recreation Facility.

Despite the sweltering heat, kids from Coolgardie and Kambalda had an unforgettable two-hour roller-skating adventure at the Palace Theatre in Kalgoorlie, where fun, laughter, and friendly dodgeball competition ruled the day!

As October rolled to a close, the vibrant communities of Kambalda and Coolgardie celebrated the end of Bike Month in style—while also marking the grand opening of both local pools! 

On Tuesday 5, November 2024, the Coolgardie Community Recreation Centre hosted a fantastic Melbourne Cup gathering, where 26 local residents came together to enjoy the “race that stops the nation.”

On 5 December 2024, the Shire of Coolgardie celebrated International Volunteer Day with a special “Thank a Volunteer” Sundowner event, bringing together 33 community members from various local volunteer groups.

Kambalda West's Lions Park was transformed into an open-air cinema on Sunday, December 1st, for a delightful and cozy Movie Night, organized by the Shire of Coolgardie.
