The winners of the Shire of Coolgardie ‘Sharing Our Shire’ Photography Competition were announced last week, with Beth Nowlan taking out the top prize!
The competition attracted 36 entries, each capturing a different location, landmark or icon within the Shire. The theme of the competition encouraged entrants “show why you love where you live”.
All entries were displayed in an exhibition in Drill Hall for members of the public to view for 7 days.
Aleysha Elmer’s “Pipeline Dog” photograph was the recipient of the People’s Choice Award. An impressive 255 votes were submitted by members of the community for their favourite photograph during the 7-day exhibition.
Twelve of the submitted photographs will also be selected for the 2020 Shire of Coolgardie Calendar.
Thank you to everyone who submitted a photograph into the competition. After such a positive response this year, the Shire is excited at the prospect of re-running the competition again in 2020.
