Shire Deputy President Tracey Rathbone welcomed the Premier of the State Mark McGowan to Kambalda yesterday.

The Deputy President and the Chief Executive Officer briefed the Premier on a number of commercial business opportunities the Shire is currently considering, with additional discussions addressing the collaboration strategy with the mining industry and their social licence to operate; the Shire’s ESG Framework, Waste facility and other projects of significance.
In thanking the Premier for taking time out of his extremely busy schedule to visit our Shire and in particular Kambalda, it also highlights the importance of the resource rich Shire of Coolgardie is to the economy of the state of Western Australia.
Cr Rathbone made special mention of the Premiers bravery in his leadership and commitment to ensuring the protection and safety of W.A. through the Covid19 pandemic.
“I had goose bumps and a feeling of great pride as the Premier departed to Perth from the Kambalda Airport” said the Deputy President.
