If you went down to the woods during the last school holidays you surely have not missed the Teddy Bears' Picnic held on Friday, 9 October.
It remains popular as a children's song, having been recorded by numerous artists over the decades. This year's Kambalda Teddy Bears' Picnic saw Mums, Dads and even Grandparents taking the littlest members of our community along with their cuddly friends out to Lions Park for a picnic jam packed with all the beary fun. On arrival everyone was greeted with a goodie bag full of delicious treats and water, throughout the morning fresh fruit and jelly cups were also offered and to top it off Kambalda's very own Ice Cream Queen had the perfect selection to keep everyone cool.
With popular nursery rhymes playing in the background, bubbles drifting through the park and inviting picnic areas set up, a wonderful Morning was had by all. Craft stations under the gazebos offered much needed shade with activities ranging from colouring in, picnic basket making and teddy biscuit decorating and if your teddy needed a little fix, the lovely ladies from the Kambalda Quirky Quilters had you covered. They kindly volunteered their time at the Teddy Bear First Aid Station and repaired any minor wear and tear as required and put a smile on the children's faces, they have helped. At our game station, prizes were handed out to all the little champions competing in bean bag tossing and scoring points at throwing a ball.
What a great opportunity to have those family photos updated that day. We hope you enjoyed yourself as much as we had fun planning the day. We hope to see you again when it's time to head down to the woods again next year.
