The winners of the Shire of Coolgardie ‘Showcase Our Shire’ Photography Competition were announced last week, with Tari Laatz taking out the top prize!
The competition attracted 43 entries, each capturing a different location, landmark or icon within the Shire. The theme of the competition encouraged entrants “show us why you love where you live”.
All entries were displayed in an exhibition at the Kambalda Community Recreation Centre and the Coolgardie Visitors Centre for members of the public to view for 14 days.
Cheryl Wheatley's “Raised in Beautiful Kambalda” photograph was the recipient of the People’s Choice Award. An impressive 425 votes were submitted by members of the community for their favourite photograph during the 14-day exhibition.
