Seniors Staying Connected participants were treated to a heartwarming performance by the Kambalda West District High School Y2-6 choir group on Thursday, 20 June. The performance left attendees beaming with joy as the young voices filled the room with harmonious melodies.

The Kambalda West District High School Y2-6 Choir, led by Year 3, Primary Teacher Imogen Vandenberg, showcased a diverse repertoire ranging from folk rock songs to contemporary pop hits. Their performance resonated with the audience, many of whom chuckled with the cheeky lyrics added.

As the performance concluded with enthusiastic applause and heartfelt thanks exchanged between performers and audience, it was clear that the performance had successfully achieved its goal of spreading joy and building connections across generations.

The collaborative event between Kambalda West District High School Y2-6 Choir exemplified the enriching impact of intergenerational activities. Through music, young and old alike found common ground, creating memories that will resonate in the community for years to come.

Following the Choir performance was the regular Seniors Staying Connected programme, and this week was a Musical Stroll Down Memory Lane, a very popular and loved choice for all.

A special mention of thanks to Ned Albert for bringing along the musical equipment, his enthusiasm and involvement of the morning and for arranging Steve from the Kalgoorlie Boulder Ukelele group and Kristie to come along and help make the morning an even more exciting one.

Our Seniors were fortunate to also have Bianca Marson Whait, Co-ordinator for Elder Rights WA, come along to talk about any matters such as: issues with money owed, problems with living arrangements, guardianship and administration and advance planning.
