The Shire of Coolgardie is excited to announce that the Kambalda Aquatic Facility will officially open to the public on Sunday 29 March 2020.
The project will provide a key sporting tourism asset for the region, as well as providing health and well being benefits to the local community.
The new Aquatic Facility includes upgrades to the 50-metre pool with universal access, refurbished change rooms, a new administration office, and upgraded first aid room. A refreshed layout will encourage members of the community to stay longer, with neatly landscaped areas and upgraded barbecues available for use.
The project was joint funded by Federal Government ($297k), State Government ($700k), Gold Fields Australia Foundation ($200k) and the Shire of Coolgardie.
“We are thrilled that the Shire of Coolgardie community will soon be able to experience the Kambalda Aquatic Facility – it’s likely one of the highest quality facilities compared to population size in Western Australia,” said Shire President Malcolm Cullen.
“We thank the community for their patience and look forward to celebrating the grand opening with them at the end of March.”
The Shire of Coolgardie will be hosting a free community launch event for the opening of the pool on Sunday 29 March.
