During the July school holidays the Coolgardie Community Recreation Centre (Coolgardie Rec) hosted fantastic events, including snow parties, an Uno tournament, and NAIDOC Week celebrations.
In the first week, the Coolgardie Rec organized a variety of events, with our snow parties proving particularly popular. Thanks to a collaboration between our leisure and recreation team and external service providers we showcased impressive equipment, including the star attraction - a snow machine. During session two, Mellany from Lashique Beauty provided delightful face painting, with even the staff joining in the fun.
Our Uno Tournament saw a fantastic turnout thanks to the support from Kalgoorlie Centre staff. We offered various types of Uno games, with the original version emerging as the favourite among participants. The children had a great time, and the staff, armed with their +4 cards, added a competitive edge to the event.
With support from various organisations in the Goldfields, NAIDOC Week featured diverse activities and events like a captivating Bush Boutique Collective workshop at Coolgardie Community Recreation Centre, which was a highlight of the week.
Overall, the July school holidays, and NAIDOC Week celebrations were enriching and enjoyable experiences for everyone involved.
