The Shire of Coolgardie’s annual Seniors Christmas celebration brought joy and festive spirit to our community yesterday, with 110 of our valued seniors gathering at the beautifully decorated Coolgardie Recreation Centre. The green and gold theme was brought to life with vibrant decorations, thanks to the creativity and hard work of Tony, Alan, and Jules, who truly transformed the space into a Christmas wonderland.
Shire President kicked off the celebration, warmly welcoming everyone and setting the tone for a day of camaraderie and cheer. Attendees enjoyed a delicious lunch and refreshing drinks, creating an atmosphere of joy and connection.
Entertainment filled the air, with performances from CAPS Coolgardie, the ever-energetic DJ Sexy Beard, and an unexpected treat from Kambalda resident Mary Lester, whose beautiful song captivated the room. The Kambalda Fitness group kept the energy high with two dance performances, even encouraging attendees to join in, creating a sense of community spirit that was felt by all.
To add to the day’s excitement, every attendee left with a generous $100 Buy Local Voucher, kindly provided by Mineral Resources. Additionally, lucky winners were thrilled to take home one of the 19 beautifully arranged hampers, 6 unique gifts, or 4 meat packs, donated by our generous sponsors.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to all who contributed to make this day unforgettable, including Coolgardie, Kambalda & Norseman CRCs, Woolworths Kambalda, Retravision, House Kalgoorlie, Quirky Quilters Kambalda, Adroit Mining Services, Everett Butchers, Office Nationals, Kambalda Hotel & Nickel Bar, Pryce Mining Services, and the Shire of Dundas, along with anonymous donors who provided special hampers and gifts.
With laughter, entertainment, and thoughtful gifts, our Seniors Christmas celebration was a fantastic way to end the year on a high note and show our appreciation for the incredible seniors in our community. Thank you to everyone who joined and supported this wonderful event – we look forward to more heartwarming gatherings in the future!
