The Coolgardie Community Makers Markets are a vibrant monthly event held on the last Sunday of each month, designed to support community groups, showcase local artisans and crafters.

These markets take place at the picturesque Coolgardie Park. In the event of inclement weather, the market will be relocated to the Coolgardie Post Office Complex.

1. Does the market provide gazebos, tables, and chairs?

The Shire of Coolgardie and the hosting community group do not provide gazebos, tables, or chairs. Stallholders are required to bring their own setup.

2. Setup and Pack-up Instructions:

  • Access for setup is from 8 am on the day of the market.
  • Stallholders may begin packing up no earlier than 12 pm must depart by 12.45pm
  • Each stall area measures 3m x 3m unless prior arrangements have been made with the Shire of Coolgardie.
  • Vehicles are not permitted in the setup area.
  • Community group representatives will assist stallholders with queries and directions from 7:45 AM until all have departed at 12:45 PM.

    3. Product Criteria for Criteria for Authors, Musicians, Photographers and Artists:

 Items such as books, photographs, art prints, and music, even when reproduced on different mediums or in multiple copies, are considered handmade if created by the stallholder

4. Criteria for Authors and Musicians:

 Products like books, photography and reproduced paintings and music created by the stallholder are considered handmade, as they are original works authored / created by the stallholder.

5. Stall Fees and Payment Details:

A Stall fee of $20 per stall are payable on the day of the market to the hosting community group.

6. Sale of Food Product:

A valid Food Business Registration certificate is necessary for selling any food items, unless the stall is part of a charity or not-for-profit group.

7. Stall holder list

The Shire of Coolgardie will provide the Community Group hosting the market a list of all stall holders who have will be attending the upcoming market by 12pm the Friday before the market. No stall holders on the list are permitted to have a stall at the market.

8. Can the markets be cancelled?

Yes, the Shire of Coolgardie reserves the right to cancel the markets at any time due to unforeseen circumstances such as severe weather, emergencies, or other factors that may impact the safety or feasibility of the event. Efforts will be made to notify stallholders as early as possible about any cancellations.

9. What is the minimum number of stallholders required for the market to proceed?

The Coolgardie Makers Markets require a minimum of 8 registered stalls to proceed. This minimum ensures a diverse and vibrant market experience for both vendors and visitors. If this number is not met, the market may be postponed or cancelled, and registered participants will be given adequate notice.

10. Are food vans and coffee vans allowed at the markets?

Currently, the Coolgardie Makers Markets are focusing on supporting local community groups and businesses for food sales and are not accepting applications from food and coffee vans. This approach helps promote and support local economic activity within the community.

Terms and Conditions

Setup and Pack-up:

  • Stallholders must complete setup by 9 am and are not to pack up before the market closes, except under special circumstances.

Rubbish Removal:

  • Stallholders are responsible for the removal of their own rubbish to prevent overfilling public bins.

Stall Area Management:

  • Ensure your setup does not exceed your allocated space and does not obstruct adjacent stalls.

Equipment:

  • Stallholders must provide all their own setup equipment. No facilities will be provided by the organisers.

Site Plan and Sales:

  • The Shire of Coolgardie does not take responsibility for the traffic or sales at individual stalls.

Use of BBQs and Generators:

  • These are strictly prohibited unless prior approval is obtained from the Shire of Coolgardie.

Market Integrity:

  • Only handmade products are allowed; no second-hand or bric-a-brac items will be permitted.

Cancellation of Markets:

  • The Shire of Coolgardie reserves the right to cancel the markets at any time due to unforeseen circumstances such as severe weather, emergencies, or other factors that may impact the safety or feasibility of the event. Minimum Stallholder Numbers:

  • The Coolgardie Makers Markets require a minimum of 8 registered stalls to proceed with the market. This ensures a diverse and vibrant market experience for both vendors and visitors. Food Vans and Coffee Vans:

  • Currently, the Coolgardie Makers Markets are prioritising local community groups and businesses for food sales and will not be accepting applications from food and coffee vans. This approach is intended to support and promote local economic activity within the community.

Application time:

  • Stall holders must apply by 12 pm the Thursday before the market. No late applications or on the day applications will be approved.

Terms and Conditions

The Community group is responsible for ensuring stall holders abide by the terms and conditions set out by the Shire of Coolgardie and any non-adherence is reported to the Shire of Coolgaride immediately. The terms and conditions will be printed and provided with the stall holder list

I confirm that I will pay a stall holder fee of $20 each time I have a stall to the Community Group hosting the market.
