On the morning of September 8th, families gathered at the Kambalda Community Recreational Facility Library for a special visit from Beverly Pack of Parenting Connections, who delivered another delightful and enriching Finger Gym session.

On Thursday, 11 September 2025, the Kambalda community gathered from 11:30am to 1:00pm to mark R U OK? Day—a national day of action that reminds us to check in with each other and start a meaningful conversation.

On Sunday 3 August, Cr Rathbone attended the 50th year celebration of the St John Vianney Church in Kambalda West on Sunday morning. 

It was tinsel, tunes, and toe-tapping fun today Thursday 31, July 2025 as local seniors celebrated a festive “Christmas in July”. The event, held at The Kambalda Community Recreation Facility was filled with cheer, laughter, and movement as participants donned their best Christmas-themed attire and danced their way into the morning.

On Wednesday, July 10th, families were invited to the Kambalda Recreation Centre to celebrate National Parents Day with a fun afternoon of creative activities.

The Shire of Coolgardie Council officially adopted its 2025–26 Annual Budget at its Ordinary Council Meeting held on 29 July 2025. This budget marks a step forward in the Shire’s financial recovery following months of collaboration between Councillors, staff, contractors and the Acting Chief Executive Officer.

On Friday, 11 July 2025, Centrecare hosted a vibrant NAIDOC Arts and Craft event at the Coolgardie Community Recreation Centre. From 12pm to 3pm, local children and youth came together to celebrate Aboriginal culture, creativity, and community.

Some practical and welcome works were recently completed in both Coolgardie and Kambalda, thanks to the efforts of the local Waste crew.

The Coolgardie Recreation Centre was buzzing with creativity Tuesday 24 June as families, children, and craft lovers came together for a fun-filled Foil Art Craft.

Essential runway maintenance was completed at Kambalda airport from 20th to 22nd June with Shire staff and Versatile Contracting laying 800 tonnes of gravel to re-sheet the centre of the runway.

At its Ordinary Council Meeting held on Tuesday, 24 June 2025 at the Kambalda Community Recreation Facility, the Shire of Coolgardie Council endorsed a revised differential rating strategy for the 2025/26 financial year, including the introduction of two new Unimproved Value (UV) mining categories—Prospecting and Exploration.

Further to the Minister for Local Government’s refusal of the Shire of Coolgardie’s differential rating and subsequent comments in the media, the Shire would like to provide the following response. Shire of Coolgardie Council has previously acknowledged and accepted responsibility for the current situation, and deeply apologises to its community.
